How can I change the owner contact of my domain?

Instructions for changing WHOIS information

Updated over a week ago

1 - General Information

First, please note that there are two types of domain contacts for which a change can be made:

  • OwnerC/Domain Owner: This contact is the legal owner of the domain, who must fulfill all obligations of a domain owner. Please always ensure that the stored data (especially the email address) is kept up to date. The domain owner is liable for any violations of law.

  • AdminC/Administrative Contact: The OwnerC/Domain Owner is usually also the AdminC/Administrative Contact. Optionally, another contact can be set here, who, for example, takes over domain administration.

2 - Log in

To make a contact change, first log in to our customer portal at terminal.internex.com.

3 - Select Cloud

Click "Select this Cloud" for the corresponding cloud.

4 - Domain Manager Pro

Click "Domain" -> "Domain Manager Pro" in the menu at the top.

5 - Select Domain

Click on the domain where you want to make the change.

6 - Whois Info

In the domain's menu, select "Whois Infos". Here you can review and manage your domain's WHOIS information.

7 - Change Contact

You can change the respective contact by clicking on "Change Domain Owner" or "Change Domain Admin". The difference between OwnerC and AdminC is explained in step 1.

Follow the steps for the change of ownership. Once the form has been uploaded, we will take care of the rest of the process.

For some TLDs, changing the owner's details is more complex or requires a different approach. You'll receive the error message "Unfortunately, changing the owner's details for this domain extension isn't possible automatically. Please contact our support team."

In this case, please contact [email protected].
