Setting up Split-Setup in Thunderbird for Windows

How to set up your Split Setup Exchange mailbox in Thunderbird for Windows.

Please note that setting up a Hosted Exchange mailbox in Thunderbird is only possible via IMAP. Calendar and contact synchronization is therefore disabled.

We recommend using Outlook (Classic) as an alternative.

1 - Open Thunderbird

Launch the Thunderbird application.

2 - Enter username and password

Enter the username and password of your Split Setup Exchange mailbox.

Please note that setting up a Split Setup Exchange mailbox is only possible with a username in the following format:

Logging in with your email address is not possible!

Click "Configure manually".

3 - Server Settings

Please complete/change the information entered. The following information is required to set up your Hosted Exchange Split Setup mailbox via IMAP in Thunderbird:

Protocol: IMAP

IMAP incoming server / Hostname: at.exchangeserver.online

Port: 993

Connection security: SSL/TLS

Authentication method: Normal password

Username: Your username

SMTP outgoing server / Hostname: at.exchangeserver.online

Port: 587

Connection security: STARTTLS

Authentication method: Normal password

Username: Your username

Next, click "Done".

Wait until Thunderbird has set up your mailbox and click "Finish".

4 - Edit sending address

To be able to send, you need to edit the existing sending address. To do this, click "Account Settings" in your mailbox.

Click on the account name in the menu on the left and then under "Default Identity" change the email address to your email address in the format [email protected]

You can now access your emails.
