Setting up Direct-Setup in Thunderbird for Windows

How to set up your Direct Setup Exchange mailbox in Thunderbird for Windows.

Please note that setting up a Hosted Exchange mailbox in Thunderbird is only possible via IMAP. Calendar and contact synchronization is therefore disabled.

We recommend using Outlook (Classic) as an alternative.

1 - Open Thunderbird

Launch the Thunderbird application.

2 - Enter email address and password

Enter the email address/username and password of your Direct Setup Exchange mailbox and click "Configure manually".

3 - Server Settings

Please complete/change the information entered. The following information is required to set up your Hosted Exchange Direct-Setup mailbox via IMAP in Thunderbird:

Protocol: IMAP

IMAP incoming server / Hostname: at.exchangeserver.online

Port: 993

Connection security: SSL/TLS

Authentication method: Normal password

Username: Your email-address

SMTP outgoing server / Hostname: at.exchangeserver.online

Port: 587

Connection security: STARTTLS

Authentication method: Normal password

Username: Your email address

Next, click "Done".

4 - Completion

Wait until Thunderbird has set up your mailbox.

You can now access your emails.
