Setting up IMAP Mailbox in Thunderbird for Windows

How to set up your IMAP Mailbox in Thunderbird for Windows.

1 - Open Thunderbird

Launch the Thunderbird application.

2 - Enter email address and password

Enter the email address and password of your Mailbox and click "Configure manually".

3 - IMAP Server Settings

Please complete/change the information entered. The following information is required to set up your Mailbox via IMAP in Thunderbird:

Protocol: IMAP

IMAP incoming server / Hostname: various options, see below

Port: 993

Connection security: SSL/TLS

Authentication method: Normal password

Username: Your email-address

SMTP outgoing server / Hostname: various options, see below

Port: 465

Connection security: SSL/TLS

Authentication method: Normal password

Username: Your email address

Incoming/Outgoing Mail Server

Managed Mail: For a Managed Mail product, we will send you the corresponding server via email during setup.

Webspace Mailbox: If you have a webspace mailbox, you can find the corresponding server under "Email" -> "Mailboxes" -> "How do I access my emails?" in the Webhosting Manager.

Managed Server: For a Managed Server Mailbox, the server's hostname (e.g., xserv99999.secure-node.com) must be used when setting up a mailbox.

Next, click "Done".

4 - Completion

Wait until Thunderbird has set up your mailbox.

You can now access your emails.
